Dedicated to two of my fellow writers and their individual talents...Steven, Chanti

What Have You Used Your Words For Today?

Oh the words, the words, the wonderful words

The words can describe pain

The words can describe loneliness

The words can rant insane

The words can tell a story

The words make one laugh with joy

The words can say I love you

The words can be a toy

The words can paint a picture

The words describe natures best

The words can comfort grieving

The words can be a test

But the words, oh so hateful words

Used to bring disharmony to life

In the hands of ones so cruel

Can be sharper then a butchers knife.

Words can hold a whole world... words can give wing to endless worlds... words can kill worlds that were meant to be endless.
Thank you for this poem, well worth meditating upon, Felix.

Oooo - searingly spot-on, built to by the wonderful outlaying of the beauty that can be sown and the fruitful harvest that can otherwise be reaped by the liberal sprinkling of affirming, healthy, life-giving words. Everyone has been cut to the quick here, Felix, and your poem has struck a resonance in all our hearts and souls. TY and Bless you. Kate xx

So true Felix, for it is said that the power of life and death are in the tongue.

Oh, yes, all kinds of words and different meanings for them. But for someone to try to trash others is the worse kind. If you can't say something good about someone it is best to just keep quiet, but some people just can't do that. Good job of writing how you feel about people who use the words to hurt others. Karen

"The pen is mightier than the sword"...and verbal attacks cut like a knife into the heart of the receiver. If we don't seek truth and if we don't learn that love is always the answer, there is little, to no, hope for the continued evolution of man.
Take care,
Sherry

Right, write, right, Felix. Words can be fierce weapons, and twisted meanings can mask large lies. Word injury can be a deeper wound than a physical injury. Good work, Felix. Henry

The beauty and the insanity of our words... we can bring people to new heights, or bury them with our words... a very powerful weapon, both good and bad - our words... well done

Spot on, Felix: words can cut to the bone

I wrote a poem, "Debridement," that started

"your anger
is the knife
you wield as a scalpel
sharp
cutting
incising my soul
slowly
painfully
one inch at a time

in your search
for
undamaged
tissue
you cut too deep
and now
only a
raw open wound remains

where the substance
of me
once existed...."

An excellent, thought provoking write--thank you

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
