Stop The War ...When?

This is not meant as a condemnation of America, it's brave Armed Forces (who I respect) or even the immdediate President. It is just a Canadian viewpoint (my own) of what I have noticed.

Where are the shouts for peace and stop the war

That once echoed off the mountain tops you remember

Were they washed away with our last thread of innocence?

On that world stopping day on that dark September

The boys and girls follow the stars in stripes into death

I hear no massive protest yet somewhere mother’s still weep

I hear no talk of with-drawl, nor no declaration of all out war

World leaders only hang their heads in bored feigned sleep

Babies are babies no nationalities in their orphaned cries

Just little children dying because of politician’s lies

It was all Sadam we were told so many times in past

Now he’s been captured fresh doubt must be cast

There are times that war is truly justified in this world

It’s then civilized countries stand side by side to fight

Yet when you look around you in this war you see

Your normal allies though-out history aren’t in sight

So perhaps it’s time to question the mighty on the throne

Is there the plan for this war to end?

And why do you stand so all alone?

it's disturbing how war is a constant state of man's being ...

War ends one place today and starts another tomorrow. Lives are in constant upheaval but yet until we learn that we must get along there will be no end to wars and no peace. A really good write but I know sadly that I am correct.

Excellent work of which I totally agree. This is definately not the avenue to peace. Too many lives will be forever changed, and not for the better, because of WAR.

Excellent write Felix, I for one am against all wars...I for one will stand for the ways of peace. I have seen too much dying for a lifetime, and rue its dark hand.

I hate war. There are no winners--both sides suffer devestation and loss.

BUT: I will support the troops, they are only following orders. I wish we could all just get along.....

Powerful, poignant, thought provoking write--many around the world echo your sentiments.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

Thank you for this, Pops. I am just sorry that we (I) have just gotten used to the "situation" - how dangerous is that?! Complacency and forgetfulness whilst yet another life is stolen: worse than the cause for war in the first place, dubious though that was. Questions need to be asked before we (I) again become oblivious to the insidious on-going treadmill that exists in this instance. One might be forgiven for thinking that there might be some interests somewhere in perpetuating this war situation... No!! Surely not?!! Money talks, huh, and life comes cheap. Love and grace are perhaps in short supply because they are not political agents. Even using the words seem inappropriate when juxtaposed to the word "War"... so too does "common sense". Sorry, just tired and don't mean to be flip; I DO understand that the situation is way too complex for my pathetic and non-political brain, but does anyone dare suggest that the whole thing has escalated out of control?! If not, prove it... someone... GTG before someone hits me... Koverseeking Kate xx

You ask nothing that millions around the globe are not chanting. Including the Americans.
Is there an ending in plan? We are just as in the dark as you..we just keep praying that day will eventually arrive.
Excellent write Felix.

Lisa
