As you contemplate your fate
Sitting in your pity chair
Wondering why God cursed you
Why life is so unfair
As you think of wanting more
Or covet what is not yours
While you whine about the past
Hiding safe within your doors
As you sip on your latte
Your cappuccino or iced tea
If you should chance to look outside
At the real world we live in
Maybe you will appreciate
The way your life has been
On the corner stands the blind man
Beside him stands the legless vet
Maybe they would trade you places
That is money I would bet
Walking bye I see a forlorn mother
Searching every strangers face
Seeking her heroin addicted daughter
Now see her weary, worried pace
A teenager in ragged clothes
Digging through a can of trash
Eyes light up at half an eaten burger
Maybe his life you can crash
I could go on all night friend
You would just look the other way
Caught up in the poor me syndrome
So I have no more to say.
Knowing tomorrow the sun will shine again and friends will be there to dry another tear without fear of losing the best thing happened to them!! To know the love of another...even though not close but still there!!
Love Tinka
But then again some write not because of self-pity; nor do they need yours. They write because they want to vent.
