A Soldiers Dying Respects
Oh mother dear, dear mother, I wish somehow you were here
To sing to me sweet lullabies and special childhood rhymes
To ease my hurt as the last ragged breaths tear through my chest
Never mind, I just dream of you and Dad in better times
I grasp and cling the blood wet sand of foreign land
While through the smoke and roar of hell I call a name
The name of the girl I loved and left so far behind
Who'll know at least her soldier didn't die in shame
A medic child too soon a man writes down my dying words
One hand holds a red soaked dressing to my chest
Deep down we both know though that it's far too late
My makers sent his angels and soon I'll enjoy my final rest
It's then I see our flag of glory, battered and ragged but held high
I smile to the medic hovering close and hear his heavy sigh
He helps me raise my right hand hand up to my forehead
So together we offer it one final salute in respect before I die.

We owe them so much. So much that we will and could never repay to them what they have time after time given so unselfishly to us throughout history.
Thank You Felix..
