What a splendid achrostic, my dear friend, expressing with painfully acquired wisdom the sense of "numbness" that comes when, in a relationship, "total loss of empathy" becomes the reality from which all other losses ensue. It happens, as a consequence of many causes for which no one and yet both people in the relationship are indeed... not really to "blame", but rather, responsible for, and although it is indeed painful, it doesn't have to take us to the ultimate loss - that of hope. Maybe the purpose of all losses is for us to learn to be more attentive to signs that, within certain relationships, those involved are simply evolving in different directions. Sometimes they are still compatible in many ways, and there may still be a part of the paths where their steps will meet... and sometimes, well... not.
