Storm Song
Snow falls heavily and silently muted by the absence of daylight
Traffic has come to a standstill cars banished to owner’s driveways
Houses, cars, trees the very earth disappears smothered by a cloud of white
Lines between reality and dreamscape obscured but dreamscape finally overcomes
Purity alone now exists where the filth of a city once ruled the scene
Higher, higher it grows until like a living orgasm it breathes with the wind
Now the silence breaks and the voice of the storm sings her song
Alone and lonely I stare through the window cowed and broken by her strength
I gasp as she sets the stage for the remainder of her show
Electric lights that kept the night at bay flicker and surrender to the dark
She is my reality now and for the next few hours will hold me captive.
Amazingly penned, she can be rather daunting yet her purity exudes with her virginal whiteness.

Thank you for you continued support Felix, greatly appreciated.
P.S. I totally agree with your comment to Bobbi Ann Duffy's poem, 'Try Forgiveness'.

This poem captured me, I love the sense of isolation--yet total peace I feel when I read it. Great personification of nature, and I love the symbolism of purity to the snow. Lovely, lovely read.
Be well,
Kathy
PLEASE. Send us some of your storm songs...we haven't had a winter since I don't remember when. A quarter inchof the white stuff, heck, FLURRIES of snow is enough to get Texans excited!! Beautifully illustrated piece, you've captured the season completely and succinctly. Well done, my friend!
I'll expect delivery soon. *grins*
