Purely fictional statement against man's inhumanities done in the name of war...

Rape of Mother and Child

Twin white streaks ran through the dirt of her innocent face

tracks from the corner of her eyes to her chin

a face that only reflects the memories and the agony

the pain of what she’d seen and where she’d been

Laughter forever erased from a six year olds face

stolen in time as among the laughter she hid

beneath the dirty clothes of a door less closet

witnessing sight no one should see especially not a kid

Soldiers kill and solders maim it is the way of man

her Momma raped time after time as screams shatter the night

take their turns, wiping themselves on the rags of Momma’s clothes

her little fist stuffed in her mouth muffles the cries of fright

Quiet now, soldiers gone, dark has fallen

gunfire in the distant hills, silence in the room she leaves

child covers Momma’s privates with blood soaked dress

her mind raped, scarred by man’s insanity, too young she grieves

It may be a fictional account, but I bet it is very close to 'fact' in many cases... Very insightful poem.

We're on the same page, Felix. Graphic and stark; this is the sad reality of war as it has been and as it continues to be. Thank you, my friend. Love and peace,

Regis

Things like this are so sad, but it does happen. If each of us prevented just one time of this just think how the numbers would come down. You hit the nail on the head with this one. I really thought that you would have a St. Patty's day poem. Karen

Felix, you have done your job as a writer (referencing your bio quote). The cold fact: collateral damage is the 'cancer' that will get us in the end. Starkly captured here, ty.

Hi Felix,

Top o the Marn to you..

This poem.well, when you feel moved enough to write something like this we all feel the ripples right into our hearts.

Man's trespass upon man is evil and war brings out the worst in man. Evil rapes the innocent and hardens the black hearts the more.

Peace,
Susan
