Old Age New Man
No Ma’am I am not the man I once was
My heart tells me to tell you this is true
The guy you once knew grew weary
Of all the things for you he used to do
Now my fists don’t raise no more in anger
My voice has forgotten how to scream
Happy smiles and warm fuzzy feelings
My grandkids supplied a brand new dream
I don’t have to prove each night my manhood
Impress some bimbo who really didn’t care
If I’d breath shallow through broken ribs
As long as bloodied I’d still buy her a beer
Now my fingers just tease out poetry
My anger I traded in for story time
I like living life kind of slow and easy
Three published books prove I do fine
So wiggle your sorry ass out of here
Let me enjoy my diet coke alone
Me and my muse are here for the music
Isn’t it time you went on back home.
Feeling a bit like that right now. Being around vibrations that don't support the loving, creative spirit within eventually causes us to say: "Go away". Like attracts like. So bring on the loving light of us... let's manifest the beauty within, rather than struggle to help some that don't seem to want such help. It's time to let the love inside shine, all of the time. Celebration!

You have proved that adaptibility is the key to successful living...
Incredibly honest appraisal of yourself...

It's been said that "change is the only constant". Certainly, it is the only way that we can grow. Sounds to me like you've embraced change and have grown a lot, over the years, as a result.

excellent poem of overcoming internal stuggle and having no support except of its own accord ...
Well done.
