Old Black and White of Mother

Old black amd white pictures always fascintate me...

Just a picture, old faded, black and white

No borders round its sides

Little jagged rips of yesteryears memories

Like the scars on old tanned hides

The hairdos so long out dated

An almost forced Mona Lisa smile

Eyes peering deep into my soul

I haven’t seen in a long, long while

Too young the Master claimed you

To the place where Angels dwell

To leave behind an aching legacy

That back then seemed a living hell

Now the years have eased the misery

But Mother I still think of you a lot

In the eyes of my own grandchildren

I find the love like yours I sought

So rest in peace dear Mother mine

Your wayward son has found hid place

By and by I’ll join that circle

And we’ll both sing Amazing Grace

My niece and her husband make black and white collages of family photos. The difference in the colored offering and the black and white is startling and revealing.

Yes those old black & white photos that still linger around here after Mom & dad passed away. Old yet so beautiful and innocent were those of yesteryear. Loved it Felix.

this is very sweet, Felix...I, too, love black and white photos. I look at my mother as a teenager and think of how fascinating it would have been to know her then!

In that baritone I'm sure it will sound like "When the Saints Go Marching In"...your voice is rich and with your Mother's and other angels...the chour will be much richer.

Susan

Oh, Fee! I love this offering deeply. I love to look at the black and white photos of my grandparents. It roots me in love and history every time I go back home to my parent's house and pull them out. Sometimes I look at them for hours. This meant a lot to me to read this!
Be well,
Penny
