For the greatest daughter a Dad could have hoped for...Wanda

Poem Artwork

I Have Watched My Children Grow

Moe Bandy a great country singer and songwriter once wrote a song called the “Too Old To Die Young” which I recently heard, found the words and now it has become one of my all time favorites. The chorus line in it sums up how I also feel…

“Let me watch my children grow…to see what they become,

Oh Lord don’t let that cold wind blow… till I’m too old too die young”

I thank the Lord...

For the baby I held in my arms

For seeing her many charms

For hearing her call me Dad

For love in good times and bad

For each boo-boo I kissed

For every pony she wished

For each hug and goodnight

For each new morning light

For the feel of her little fingers

For that love that still lingers

For allowing me to see

For knowing she’ll always be

A blessing that you sent to me!

Dad

XXXOOO

Great prayer. It is something I cannot fathom when I read that fathers abuse their own children. Incredible. Our children are such a delight. May God bless both of you. Victor

This is astounding respect, love and dedication for your daughter Fee. She is blessed and you are blessed. I don't know her but I feel the love you have for her in the dedication from a father's thankfullness to his daughter. You, as a poet/songwriter, find the words for others too.

Joy!

Love,
Susan

Fee, every time I see one of these poems it brings tears to my eyes. There should be more Father's out there who have loving relationships with their Dad's. I envy your relationship simply because I don't have a Dad...never did. Tried to adopt a couple at one point in my life, but you can't adopt a Dad.Too bad. God Bless you for being one more of those wonderful Father's that I hear so much about. Holly

A shining star, Felix! Just beautiful, filled with love and tenderness. If only all Dads and Moms felt this way we wouldn't be hearing about all the abuse and ugliness toward babies and children in the media constantly. How can one NOT love these little creatures?! A write I'm sure your daughter will treasure for a lifetime.

Peace. Joyce
