Muse is in a dark mood tonight...

Twisted Turnings

In the twisted underbrush of reason

Near the burning sands of love’s demise

Over the rickety bridge of hate’s disdain

The crows in unison count sorrow’s lies

In the weed filled meadows of what was

Beneath dissention’s bland sky of disgrace

Festering along side the stagnant river

The hungry wolves howl claiming space

A wretched soul in a tortured world

Slips through torn time fabrics laid bare

To lay down with the heathen asps of wrath

Snug in the cold dirt blanket waiting there

Call me strange but this doesn't read that dark to me. This wolf has laid with enough "heathen asps of wrath" and enjoyed them all...hell I even married one once :) I liked this alot Fee. Well written piece...Enjoyed!

You called it, Felix...kind of creepy and twisted, but well written just the same.
Take care,
Sherry

This is a wonderful write of torn emotions and the poet who goes here is fearless. That would be you, dear Fee. You are the warrior who is fearless in these matters of life.

Bravo!

Love,

Susan

My but dark is an apt word here. This poem reads as if spurred on by anger, as this reader read each line it felt as if the tempo picked up until the silence of the very last line. Nice.

This is a keeper! I want to read this over and over... I love
the spooky creepy feelings I get.
I love the words you chose to use!
Heathen, not one I use at all-hmmm...
Disention is tho'
rickety bridge, that's a great imagery!
Like I said, I love it all!
YOur mind is where it needs to be! For a reason love!

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
