Re-United Laughter Rings
By Felix L. Perry
Twilight in the land of shattered dreams
A lonely heart stands forgotten so it seems
Dancing to a waltz no one else can hear
She remembers how he held her near
Sunset beaches of white virgin sand
Lover’s hearts walked hand in hand
Tired, her face wears signs of age
History forgot her mortal page
Shivers as she feels the evening chill
Pulls close her sour coat of English twill
Turns dejected walks the barren shore
Wishing to see him just once more
The way things were when he was real
Too late now, his name marks a grave
Love of life gone on Deadman’s Turn
Three score more to yearn and yearn
They found her on the beach that day
Tossed to and fro by the waves that play
A black and white photo tightly gripped
Coroner said she must have slipped
Yet sometimes in the chill damp mist
Just before that corner where they kissed
You can hear the laughter now of two
Together again found love all new!

As precious as love is, it holds not a candle to life.
One has to be feeling not only lonely but devastatingly lost and shattered.
Stunning write Felix, but oh so sad.
