Wee Willie Sang Amazing Grace
By: Felix L. Perry
Wee Willie was a loner
Very little social grace
Never challenged others
In life’s fleeting race
Content to feel the sunshine
Or taste the falling rain
Smiled at the children
Some thought he was insane
Wee Willie never had a real job
Just odds and ends in town
Never had no real schooling
Yet he never wore a frown
He'd sing lines of Amazing Grace
That end “How sweet thou art.”
Most parents worried needlessly
And always kept their kids apart
Then one day little Sally May
Strayed along the railway track
Only one man heard her crying
Above the wheel’s clickety-clack
Wee Willie saved that little girl
The Angels let him take her place
As the folks all gathered round him
From above they heard “Amazing Grace.”
They found him crushed and dying
As above they heard “Amazing Grace”
Never judge a book by it's cover!

Wee Willie is truly just another angel in disquise...now if we could just get all the "holiday" out of everyone's front brain, we just might see that he never really wears a costume!
