This is a glimpse into the place called Nova Scotia, I do dearly love it and cannot imagine myself living anywhere but here. As a local beer companys commercial states "Nova Scotia, there is no life like it" Sorry if I make Nova Scotians living away (John, Mabel and Francis) homesick...

Poem Artwork

Nova Scotia Paradise

Oh ‘tis a blessed day upon our shore

…where the rocks and waves collide

Seagulls scream their welcome songs

…as neath summer’s sun they glide

The smell of the fire on the beach

…joins the smell of the salt in the air

Clams are a steamin’, mussels are bakin’

…tis indeed a down-home atmosphere

‘Tis grand indeed to feel a sea breeze

…as guitar and songs start to play

Old stories are shared of days long ago

…and of ones nay more with us today

Now the dusk calls to the night

A setting suns sure to delight

You’ll sip your wee spot of steeped tea

God bless this our home

Nay, I never no more will roam

From Nova Scotia sweet place by the sea

Oh Felix, you have made me homesick for the east coast.(not to awfully far from Nova Scotia) All that I mess, the bonfires, clambakes and friends gathering for an evening on the beach. I can hear the lonely cry of the seagulls, breath in the salty air and hear the ocean slapping on the shore. Beautifully written.
Be safe,
Karen

I've been to Canada, but not to Nova Scotia. I went to Canada when I was but fourteen, and it left a big impression on me. Someday I hope to return and explore more of Canadian beauty at its best! (Went to Niagara Falls.) Beautiful, beautiful write, Fee; awesome!! BRAVO!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

(((Fee))),

Having never experienced Nova Scotia, you've taken me there in beautiful, engaging verse; this could be an anthem. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I long for the day when I never more will roam (from Nova Scotia's shores). To all you readers who have never experience the Beauty of the shores of our home, save up all your pennies and before you leave this world, visit the Heaven that God gave us here on Earth.

And Leroy (growing up we always called him Leroy), the beach parties, clam bakes, and the clam digging and family picnics at Three Fatham Harbour, Mom's egg salad (God, I hate onion). Mom brewing the tea over an open fire and then cleaning the soot off afterwards by rubbing the pots in the sand. Nine kids packed into the station wagon or whatever old car dad had at the time, the Sunday drives down to Eastern Passage or Cow Bay and stopping for ice cream or pop. Life was a treat.

Yes, this poem has brought tears to my eyes, but I'll be home again this year and with God's blessing in five or six more years it'll be a one way trip back to the salt air and sea breezes of home.

I have to go dry my eyes now, I can't see what I'm typing,

Lov ya bro,

John

Fee, First of all I didn't realize you were a fellow Canadian eh? Secondly, I envy you living in such a paradise. To travel to the Maritimes is our dream vacation, and to view the gorgeous Atlantic ocean. Your poem has made me wistful for the day when we can go there. Love the picture too.
