Sometimes life and love don't work out the way we wish they could...s

Poem Artwork

Maybe I’ll Be A Memory

Does he kiss you, like I kissed you

in my dream last night

Does he make you want forever

not just the morning light

I know he can make you promises

that I could never do

I want to say, just walk away

but that’s not fair to you

Does he make you smile, like I did a while

is he all that he can be

I know it’s vain, but still the same

do you sometimes think of me

When you see a singer strum a six string

with a sad look in his eye

Do you wonder where I ended up

and breathe a slow, sad sigh

I heard it through the grapevine

you are smiling all the time

It’s good to know you’re happy

though I wish the reason was all mine

Well the night is late, it’s all up to fate

when love is not to be

I’ll drink a beer, wish you were here

remember what will be…will be.

I agree with the rest. I feel a song coming from this one. The love and passion are shining right through this one, Fee. This is absolutely fantastic.

Would make a great song, and your effort to rhyme takes nothing from the meaning in your lines. I see you have no shortage of fans... guess its all been said already :)

Fee, you are truly the top of the romantic heap. I don't do love poetry very often because I'm not very goos at it, so I come here because you have it in your soul.

I needed to go the way of the AD main page, because your link wasn't highlighted by AD on its e-mail about your posting.

WOW!!! a sad poet needs another poet, a sad man, a friend so they can look inside a bottle of beer and wonder until the stupor settles.
Great writing.

This are some awesome lyrics for a great song Fee!
Life is full of what ifs.
What if I have done this different
Would it have made a deference
No one will ever know but
Sometimes things don’t work out
The way we want them
But is better to have love
And be a memory than never to have
Love! beautiful lyrics for a great
Song call ( Maybe I'll Be A Memory )PS make this a country song
Love and Peace to you
Your friend Yolie
