Teardrop Pillow Dew

I went to a funeral of a relative the other day and it was old school country funeral where only the women cried and afterwards the men got out the fiddles, guitars and keyboards and played out their grief in song washing it down with strong liquor, sort of like the poem that I offer you today...

T

eardrop Pillow Dew

Teardrops should reside as pillow dew

No man can walk tall and cry

Even when you bury a brother

Only allow yourself a subtle sigh

Drink that double shot of rum

Strum that guitar once again

Hide the empty ache inside you

Sing a song to dull the pain

Don’t look at that family picture

Of the two of you so long ago

Get Johnny on the fiddle now

To liven up this gloomy show

Accept all the tired old clichés

The hugs and hands held tight

You know you never said goodbye

He’ll fill your thoughts tonight

Finish down your ice watered drink

Time to put the old guitar in its case

Say goodnight to that one dimension picture

Memories in sleep will take its place

Glad we don't live in times like that. Though I guess you still have that where you are. It's the showing of strength I know and yes, the dew will find the pillows by morning. Thank you for sharing this piece of your world. Lady J

Dear Felix,

Grief can be experienced and expressed in many different ways. I kinda like the idea of music as a means to do that.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

Oh Fee, this is especially realtive to my own feelings at this time.
I want to go into the Pine forest tomorrow, as they bury my dear friend. It was in a pine forest setting, on a camp where we first met.
I will have teardrop dew and then some.
Ty fee, this is a soft touching write as only you can do.

Nothing say sadness more clear than a softly playing guitar which will moan among the shadows going away, escorting the soul of a friend on his final journey.
