It is ironic how close living is to playing poker...

The Loser Deals

If fate had dealt a different hand

In lives own poker game

I may have been a different man

Or things may have been the same

Perhaps you and I would have been

In the cards for me that time

We’d have made a grand sweet pair

If I’d been yours and you’d been mine

Maybe the cards would have played

A hand where our love could be free

A winning hand of our hearts desire

Dealt out just for you and me

Ah…but fate’s a random dealer

With a poker face so bland

You play or fold and walk away

The way I now fold this losing hand

Yes dear cuz fate could have played a different hand but I have always believed that everything happens in life for a reason and that we all have certain paths to follow but sometimes in life we get sidetracked from that path. Your write as usual is wonderful.

Love & hugs

Love is a gamble, to be sure. To bad we can not always read the "hand" in the eyes of the others eyes. We might all by pass the painful parts. loved this one Fee.

In this life we grow, make bad decisions and smile a lot. If we don't find the seed that is meant for us this time around, we do it again with different energies and faces but all the same...the quest is always for the finest.
I know this seet Fee.
love,
Susan

I think there is a point where we settle and presume that the hand we are holding is as good as it is going to get. I suppose that is human nature, but settling is just never good enough...it always leaves us wondering about the could have beens. Perhaps we need to learn to want what we have since, as with most things in life, we may never be able to have all that we want. Excellent message in this poem, Felix.
Take care,
Sherry

I have to agree Fee, that this does so much remind me of Kenny Rogers song The Gambler. Life deals each of us a hand, and we play it to the best we know how. Sometimes we play it out, other times we fold when we should have called, and still other times we walk away. Then there is where we run when we should have stayed.

Life, love, and all the complicated thoughts that go with it, is definitely Mother Nature's poker hand.

And maybe, just maybe, when the hand is finally played out, we will find the salvation that eluded us during the game.

Thank you dear Felix for sharing this heartfelt piece of love, life, and disappointments.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), sister Barbie

So sad and so very, very true. You write the best sad poetry. That's a compliment. As in the content of the poetry is sad, not that the writing is sad! :)

If for happiness we'd have no time to wallow and surely we might miss more of this life. Your words are timeless as so many of us have felt. yet in them is a different kind of happiness I find with others lonely just as we. A thousand people could be around us and we'd still long to be here in our lonely dens with another thousand just as we. I loved the write for it's food for thought. Lady J

Born with "a pair of deuces never lose" it is not funny confronting the arrogance of four aces (two of them on diamonds)
When the life game is crooked...the only thing one have is to fold.
