For my cousin Rose who has become one of the biggest hearts in our Den family....
*An Image Of The Sweetest Flower* *The wild rose grows in my front yard* *The aroma fresh and sweet as a sigh* *The petals soft as a spring breeze* *I�ll love them till the day that I die* *Their thorns can pierce like a knife wound* *If you do not treat with respect* They need now and then some attention *They are too sweet and fragile to neglect* *I hold in my mind one sweet memory* *A blossom never too far from my heart* *Of a rose that blooms in the summer* *My mind holds this picture so it never departs* *Now the petals of love may fall easy* *Scatter like dust to the cold winds of Fall* *Winter snows may bury her branches* *Yet this beauty is always their when I call.*

This is a beautiful tribute to Rose. I was stunned when, after spending a couple of hours in my Den (having never been there before), Rose wrote me a poetic tribute. This poem is very fitting to the kind soul and gifted poet she is.

I often told Rose so many times she had written the words I could not say. Looks like it runs in the family. Beautiful tribute to her. You both are so lucky to have found this relationship.

A thousand words ran through my mind when I was thinking about how to comment on this wonderful poem my dear. Two stuck - charming and lovely. I too have a wild rose growing in my yard. It sends out roots that create a new bush here and there and it reminds me of someone very dear to me. This poem is a keeper as are all of yours.

How gorgeous is this, Darlin? The last rose of summer... the petals that hang by a thread... Surely this tribute captures the sigh of love's full-bloom and the heart-sickness as the last petal floats elegantly to the ground, never to be forgotten. Such are your memories which never fade but are relived daily as you partake of each other's fragrance afresh on pages here at the Den. Cousins you most definitely are... is your family called Love, by any chance? Such familial bonds are a joy to witness and the grace with which you blossom each other, together and apart, is a lesson in what it means to be family. You are branches of the same tender vine.
