This is for my daughter Wanda, all too often we forget to tell our "grown-up kids" how much they mean to us...

As The Years Go By

By: Fee (Daddy and Poppy)

His little baby giggles

Ten little baby fingers

His little baby wiggles

Ten little baby toes

And little belly jiggles

Mommy rocks the baby

Daddy sometimes too

Diapers on the dresser

You need pink not blue

He sang little baby lullabies

Made up just for you

His little baby wants a bottle

She’s crying in the night

Little baby needs a changing

He’d better do it right

His little baby softly sleeping

His heart touching delight

Little baby girls all grown up

To be Mother of her own

This little baby’s Mommy

Calls her Daddy on the phone

Daddy smiles contented

Dad she said “Poppy” all alone!

What a treasured, tender write. I only have boys -- but I know over the years how I feel. One day, one of my boys will give me my long awaited girl...very precious, Fee. I can feel your love emitting from your words.

Goodness, you got my morning smile going. And a few tears, too.

Ain't it the truth. Just a call can bring all the years and love back. Talk about a great connection. Brings the saying 'reach out and touch someone' to life.

This is one time I can truly say I know how you feel.

By God Fee!!! I hope that when you were writing this you were wearing a bib, hate to see your keyboard, though.
But this one could well be made a children's song, coul it? put some music and come back to me.
