To those I leave behind...

Poem Artwork

Words

By: Fee

I do not seek eternity

I’m just happy with today

If the sun don’t rise tomorrow

I’ll be glad I got to play

I lived a life filled with passion

Loved and been loved too

Did my best to be a good man

To be honest and be true

But age now seems determined

To let time slip away like sand in glass

What I thought would be forever

Now I often just watch it pass

I take comfort though in knowing

I leave behind a legacy of word

My voice eternal set in paper

So when needed I’ll be heard…

I agree, and knowing what you know, I sometimes wonder how people can tell and write so many lies, because that's all that they will leave behind. How sad!
There is a soft, whispering way in which you tell your truth in this poem.

Fee,
I think you've captured the essence of why writers write. Though the tone of this poem is sad, there is also an undertone of reassurance for those left behind; you will always be there when you are needed. Lovely piece. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Brother, you will never be like that "old news paper" and keep talking, because when you do it, I know you are alive and well and the one that will help me to blow the hundred candles from that damn birthday cake...and where the hell is that Coors of mine?

Artfully constructed through deep thoughts and emotions to leave behind a legacy that will live on through family and friends. Through friends and family we continue to live on and that is the greatest tribute of all, deeply passionate....

Be always safe,
Karen

I concur; age sucks big time, I just turned twenty one and found out that I now have a wrinkle starting where a pimple was and now I have to reduce the penis wheight-lifting by ten pounds. I can't imagine what it must be like to turn thirty like you, surely there's a bridge high enough; I mean for bungee jumping, um' with your penis as the cord. But thank God penis's aren't affected by age, at least thats what my health teacher told me when she was showing me the proper procedure for stimulation of the penis; she also showed me that the vocal chord's where perfect for tunning the organ. Now I see what you mean about how wonderfull words are. ;)

You say you are comforted in leaving your written word here. You are needed on the den and do write amazingly true writes. What would we do without you? Stay writing and well and take care.
