Just a word or two...

Two Faces

Sleep now deserts me,,,

…replaced by waking dreams

Of faces who have gone before

Mother, father and brothers

Even good friends lost forevermore

By day smile with and for the living

Vow I’m okay and I’m doing fine

Until the night whispers return again

Remind me of what once was mine

Yes, I know I should be thankful

And I should truly praise the Lord

But in the night I hear the voices

though I can’t always hear the word

Maybe my mortal soul is wearing out

Or my heart has felt too much pain

Maybe my bodies sending a message

That I’m on the verge of going insane

Now the sun sinks below the horizon

And I’ll find excuses to stay up again

To let the electric lights be my umbrella

From the misery that falls like rain…

A modern psalm of desperation caused by grief. Wish I could pen my emotions so plaintively, Fee. Know how you feel. Ghosts all around me.

Give yourself more time, Fee. I can feel the different emotions in this poem. Heartache, frustration, a little fear.... They mix to create this haunting poem. Well done.

it is a time when recollection offers not the wonderful moments we once dreamt -- it is a time when reality's harshness places a firm grip upon our dreams and the moments of half-sleep -- remnants of our distraught state at times of high anxiety and bereavement -- these are the times that tax us with turmoil -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

Felix,This is a powerful poem that reveals aloneness and lonliness.
It is so vivid.
The pain the speaker is experiencing is palpable.
Reading it saddened me,but it is an excellent expression of the emptiness and loneliness we all have felt or will feel someday.

You describe the dilemma well. The watchfulness, the dread of sleep the needing of rest and comfort. These are all a normal part of grieving. sucks though big time. I hope you find some comfort from a close friend or a grieving support group or a pastor or someone else. It is not good to be in this state alone. Warm embrace, J'nia

With the blues, you can go right away and say it, we all have been there from time to time, what you need to come out of the deep well is a trusted friend with a rum bottle with an invitation for you to extract some tunes from that guitar of yours.

Fee, One of your finest poems told straight from your loving heart. Sometimes we think about our mortality. It is a good thing, because death is always at bay. Do not fear, but embrace a better life when the time comes. You have so much to give and so much more to write.
Keep on writing because you have a big fan right here, my friend.
Peace, love, and light,

My dear Fee:

I really don't know what is happening; but when I stepped into Facebook today and I've found your post which explains the state of mind that you're in, and I'm truly sorry for my earlier comments to you.

To lose someone very close to you, you will feel her presence all the time, as if she has never left you. When my dad passed away I was heartbroken, but a few days later while I was sleeping I felt someone had moved my blanket, and place it and securing it on top of me, and I knew it was my dad who had done that to let me know he was there to see me. Both my mom and my dad come into my dreams from time to time. It is a way of them communicating with me relaying to me the messages that I need to know.

Nothing is going to be the same, but you'll learn to know that you are not alone and your sister will be much closer to you than before, for she will always be there for you watching over you.

My prayers are with you and your family.

Love you always,

Sandie Angel
