As others have noted and it's true what we all know: it's tough being the ones having to watch them take that first step into flight on their maiden voyage, while our own feet remained glued to earth. Fee, long time ago someone told me that at the end of a long life there is the beginning of a eternity and that we shouldn't cry, we shouldn't do it if we loved and care, if we never hurt or disappointed, if we never failed to say thanks, then...the goodbye wouldn't be so heavy, because it will be not weighed down with regrets.

Ahhhh, Fee. You've expressed sadness and joy all in the same poem so wonderfully. I had an aunt who lived to be ninety-six. She also had a stroke. I was there when she passed and shortly before she said to me, "Honey, I'm tired and it's time for me to go. Don't be sad, be happy for me."
