It is a rainy foggy day and this write just seemed made for this kind of weather...

Poem Artwork

I walk…

out on the wind swept hills of Nova Scotia

where a lone piper plays a mournful dirge

while the whales frolic out in the bay

rocking to the ocean’s ebb and surge

aye, ‘tis a dismal day for lost thoughts

my yearning heart aches with this pain

as I wander high above the headlands

forlorn the foghorn calls my name

the squawking seabirds seem to mock me

my eyes turn misty like the foggy bay

I pause to hear the roar of far off thunder

wondering where could you be today

so I balance on the rocky cliffs of yearning

one step or two away from sweet oblivion

alas without the glow of your loving heart

I’m not sure how long I can hold on…

I've always been so intrigued by Nova Scotia and your descriptions always draw me in. You are wonderfully keen in your observations and everything you write is brushed with the stroke of romance.

What an amazing poem this is!! I can feel the mist filling my eyes, and the softness of a sweet caress through the fog.
Beautiful!

Love the emotion in this poem, Fee. Feels like I've had a glimpse into a real, living-life moment. Excellent work on the imagery, too. Hugs,

Aye, I was strolling along with you in this one, Fee. Evoked deep longing for something....I think its time for me to take a trip to Newfoundland....that's where a piece of my heart remains no matter how long I'm away. I loved this poem...you are so gifted!!!!

How deep in thought, how sad this is as I can hear the ocean beating up against the rocks calling, ever calling....
