Dedicated to all the mothers and grandmothers out there who don't mind going without sleep, smelling like baby puke and changing smelly diapers...I salute you.

Poem Artwork

Aren’t Babies Nice

Baby balance on your hips

But a smile upon your face

New diapers on the counter

Soft lullaby on your lips

Her baby bottle warming up

Naptimes just a dream away

Sorry no time for me to chat

Now the baby wants to play

My hair needs a shampoo

Blouse smells kind of sour

Maybe later when she naps

I’ll grab a nice hot shower

Ah but…gurgles and googles

All that sweet sugar and spice

The world can often be cruel

But aren’t babies nice…

Babies are nice, but I am glad I am not a mother of a baby. Babies make me nervous! LOL Still, a beautiful write! Well done, Fee; love the piccy!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Yes, they are--smelly little critters, but not all the smells are bad ones, especially after a bath. So tender and fresh compared to our grizzled selves... :)

Yes they are. And they keep you so bisy you don't have time to worry about the state of the world or the price of potatoes. Very nice in deed. hugs, J'nia

A sweet write, Fee; and a nice tribute to mothers and grandmothers who take care of babies. And you are right; babies are very nice. Love and peace,

Regis

This is delightful! You have so aptly described how it feels to be both a mother and a grandmother. My children are grown, but my little grandson, Max, is nearly four years old and is the light in my life! His precious little soul has carried me through some very dark places. There's simply nothing like holding the child of my child.

Hugs,
Anna

I agree with Amber, a happy, sweet poem, and you certainly have the cute grandchildren for you and your wife to balance on both hips, Grandpa, and you'd still need a few more hips between you, lol. And you are the best of grandpas, and this could all be said about you and other grandpas, too-equal time for grandpas! lol- Michelle

Babies are wonderful. Like your salute to them here...they can always turn sadness around and energy to a room. A "Baby fix" is pure adrenalin for me. I also salute you Fee...father and Grandpa...greatness in a shaman's logic for any wee one.
Love,
Susan
