Fee’s Life Stew Recipe

Life simmers on a back burner

Like a rich slow cooking stew

This was my own secret recipe

Now I’m going to share it with you

I start with lots of old memories

Toss in some diced heartaches of past

A cup of the broth of forgiveness

Old transgressions shouldn’t last

A pinch of “What could have been.”

Don’t forget a wee dash of regret

Perhaps just the hint of a smile

Ah…now add some…“I won’t forget.”

Two full cups of children’s laughter

Perhaps a puppy dog’s ticklish lick

(taste) Needs a tbsp of a sweetheart’s kisses

Yes…hers are best ones I can pick

Blend in a guitar and a country song

Add the feel of the open road ahead

Hm…think this stew is almost ready

I think its time we all get fed…

Lets all dig in I while it’s still hot

First let's offer grace to the Lord up above

This life stew is worth living for

For it's served to all with love…

Beautifully written, beautifully stated. Memories of the past both good and bad are the things that, for those of us getting older and are older, memories are the ingredients of life's stew. Well said, my friend. Mark

As a lover of Irish stew this has all the ingredients that any maker of stew must put in it and it will always turn out well whoever makes it and follows the recipe. You added your heart in this delightful poem.

DELICIOUS!!! :)) ... and all served up by our much-missed Love-Chef Extraordinaire who I was hoping was gonna come along again with his Sweet Trolley very soon! A good dose of singalong with Rose has obviously sharpened your appetite for the REAL tastes of life and it is good to share them again... I was just about to mail you to make sure you're doing OK, but now I KNOW you haven't lost either your touch or your appetite, so please hurry back just as soon as you can... We are hungry for your special (F)Elixir's of Life! Bless you, darlin. This is a good'un xxx
