I feel I have lived this life before
Through the destinies of other times
You my fair lady were my inspiration
For me to sing my love in rhyme
When caveman first scratched in caves
With a rock I etched my love so true
Then as a troubadour in travelling robes
I sang a love ballad I'd written just for you
Time progressed to Shakespeare’s age
I’d try to capture your sweet glance
And later by the time Poe came along
I was singing odes to our romance
I wrote of you in the land of the rising sun
With haiku’s of five, seven and five
Then told of how much I desired you
In modern free form did I strive
So in this present life I write of you
It should not come as a great surprise
For I have loved you through the ages
Look closely see it in your poet’s eyes…
