Although my Mom passed away over forty years ago, it often still seems like only yesterday...she gave me so much that I can never repay...

I Never Forgot You By: Felix L. Perry I remember… you being there first thing in the morning when we got up your hands wrist deep kneading dough for our daily bread you washing clothes in water so cold your hands were blue your imagination in stretching food to feed 11 hungry mouths you struggling but always find a way to make Christmas special you cooking on a driftwood beach fire on our Sunday drives you loving and cherishing each grandchild as they came along your singing old Newfie songs with your sisters when they visited you making home made fries and playing old 78 RPM records your smile even in the last few days I treasured spending with you I remember your love…I remember you Mom!

Wow! Your mom was very much like my mom it seems although my mom raised seven children (not eleven) and came from Brittany, France, and not Newfoundland. The work you allude to seems very much the same though. I shake my head at the hardships my mom endured in northern Alberta with no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no phone, no TV of course. It all seems like another world/life. Love and peace to you, Fee.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother that I hope you made in your own way when she was still alive. You brought back so many things that my mother gave my twin and I when we were young. Only there were only four of us until our sister came along five years later. But I do recall creative cooking and adventuring that my mother was always up for.
