 Faded Blue Eyes

By: Felix Perry

Bitter sweet tears in our hearts, we keep hidden

Along with private sad memories, we’ll never share

Despair dwells in the darkest of darkness

Secret misery, that we keep locked away there

So, we walk in the daylight to sweet summer music

We smile and laugh like someone who’s content

Dutifully count our blessings instead of our failures

Watch the world and wonder where our time went

No one truly saw or captured the passing transition

The lost sparkling twinkle in our faded blue eyes

Time can cloak the diminishing sorrow of heartache

…and it’s true how quickly time flies

No one will ever know the rhyme or the reason

Maybe not even how often our blue eyes cried

When our time runs out it won’t really matter

Part of our story were tears on pillows that dried…

Your words reached right down into my Heart this morning Fee…
Your words and expression are beautifully sad..

I really identify with all you’ve written, for me, losing my life partner and Soul
Mate, was one of the most difficult things to bear…but finding balance
over time can help…
I find there are times for these painful introspections, and also a time
of concentrating on life now…and the futures we can see sparkling in our
Grandchildren’s eyes…they need us so much to help them light the way
to a better future…

Sending Love and comforting thoughts…
The Sun is shining so brightly this morning her in the UK..
I hope it is for you too…

Diana…🌻

Your poem has touched my heart dear Felix. I can certainly empathize with you on this one. Nobody knows the sorrow we carry when throughout the smiles of day we push aside our sadness and make room for social friends, but at night when we place our head on our pillows all our personal fears and worries keep us company, may your heart be appeased at the knowledge that love and compassion exist, and there is a benevolent Universe a Charismatic God that watches over us when we sleep. Much love and hugs, dear one. xo

Perhaps for some keeping a lid on the truth of their spirit is a way of denying the rest of us audiences with their vulnerabilities.

That's why the sooner we dry those tears and get back into life is so important. Life is really very short. And those "who are not busy living are busy dying." (Bob Dylan)

Some moving verses, Fee. And I can so easily relate to the theme expressed therein. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,

Regis. 🙏🌎🌳🍁

An emotional poem, well-expressed.

I remember a time that I suddenly burst out crying for no apparent reason, so I understand where your emotion has come from. I have even documented that moment in one of my poems "I'm Not Being Myself".

I think we all have moments that we feel like the one you have described, but nothing is too serious to be dwelling on it because you are still around and being healthy - that's all it counts - to live fully, one day at a time; and we are the ones who design how we are going to live for the rest of our lives.
