It is remaining as long as

there is need,

beyond resentment, anger and greed.

Beyond fatigue

or personal decline.

It is not about time.

 

It is about longevity,

devotion, surrender.

It is in presence,

mutual forgiveness,

of being there, unseen,

for as long, as long,

as long as need.

 

It is seeing wholeness

in diminishment;

a touch, a hand,

a smile. 

An embrace without words.

It is the silence

that travels

and is heard.
