Let's all remember this Mother's Day that our children are our precious treasures.
Happy Mother's Day, Daddy by Barbara Lynn Terry He sat in his recliner resting from the work day, watching his five year old son through the window playing. He thought back to happier days when his wife was there to make sure that things got done the way they were supposed to be. He did the shopping, took his son to school he did the laundry and the house cleaning all after he got home from work but his one precious joy was his little five year old boy. It was a pity he had to work on a Saturday the day before Mother's Day. But he had to pay the bills, and buy the food and clothes for him and his son. Then the little boy stopped playing and came in the house. He handed his daddy a little folded up note with a drawing on it, and the man's tears just flowed freely. The little boy was looking at his daddy with a great big smile on his face because the note that he made said, Happy Mother's Day, daddy. Beautiful, touching tribute to a devoted father. I felt your poem very strontly as I raised my 2 children whose father was a deadbeat dad. On Father's Day, my children always presented me with a card that said Happy Father's Day Mom. Nice job Barb!

Barbara, raising a child is the hardest thing in the world. By today's standards if they haven't been convicted of a felony, had to go into rehab, and work you've done a wonderful job. I love all my children, but the email from my son in Iraq was the most precious gift I got this year. Just knowing he's ssfe is a gift from God.
I liked your poem. It was well done and poignant.

You have made a wonderful point Barbie and speak a wonderful wish for all those who do the job of a mother but never get to claim the title...the single parent Dads, the foster mothers, step mothers, aunts and uncles and all those who offer the love and and care to children everywhere. Thank you for remembering them...blood only does not make a mother.
