George spent most of his childhood in fostercare. When a young adult, he got into some bad trouble and was sentenced to TEN yrs prison time. He is a friend of one of our sons and I have been writing to him for the last few years. He has found God and has turned his life over to him. He's in a work camp and will be released in 2012. He wrote this poem quite a while ago. It really touches my heart!
"You will like it here" the social worker said as she was leaving me with my new family ,alone. As tears ran down my face.
I said "No, This is just my temporary home"!
"You've really done it now son",
said the deputy as he was closing the door to my cell. My heart was broken, my fears came alive.
A dark cloud fell on my life.
As days passed by and turned to years,
all hope for appeals were gone.
The only hope that kept me alive was,
"This is just my temporary home".
One day I will lay on my death bed
and say goodbye to this world I now
roam , BUT as my Father has said in
his word,
"This was always my temporary home"!
