She started to temble as her knees grew weak
he opened his mouth but didn't speak
Her tear-filled eyes found his lost stare
a silent message that said he cared

His heart pounded out a beat
barely visible through his shirt
She bit her lip and tried to smile
They both held their breath for awhile
Through the tear running down his cheek
she heard the words he couldn't speak

She turned to leave but couldn't go
Not after the emotions he'd shown
He took her shaking hand
and said everyting I needed to know
I heard it all with my own eyes
