Robert Redford and Sage Sweetwater Whisper to the Horse

burning bridges
point of no return
destruction carried heavy upon eagle wings

~

soaring utensils
break the kettles
fording the river catching a rainbow fish

~

black char
smells of today's decay
sky melts the singer's psalm

~

tracks laid down
pulled up earth turntables
mix of soot heavy with greed reverb

~

town gossip exceeds odometer
when will they learn mileage is cheap
and what we taught rubs off gold like velvet on elk antlers

~

sinners vault uniformed guards
detention for a high price to pay
while they struggle with truth the bear hibernates stored fat penance

~

election of a president
separating church and state
robert redford and sage sweetwater whisper to the horse

Renegade sinners offer watered down salvation to gutless guards. Redford and the horse must be quite proud! In the words of Ray Wylie Hubbard, you are the best there ever was Sage!

Peace and sweet whispers in your ear,

Dayvid

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
