The book in which the
Israelites leave slavery
In Biblical Egypt
The outcome
Is the priceless
Gem cut on a river
Of Green Emerald blood
An outbreak of frogs and
Darkness sacrifice the
Dam and the Lamb
Throwing those
Newborn boys into
The Nile, denial and
Reviled we led them in
A holy war to possess the
Land etched on stoned
Tablets, marijuana and
Ecstasy flipped out, but
We sober see the Golden Calf
On the boulevard how clever
The veil hides the face the
Secret we embrace my ordination
They have fascination but what
Of It? Did we originate in the
Exiled community that is for only
The divine to know, the covenant
A historical preamble even we
Gamble for the Divine Plan
All layed out beforehand, the
Diptych divided into two parts
With the division at the
Ruby Crossing of the Red Sea

From what I've learned. The holy land was much greener in the days of the Old Testament. Why Egypt was also so powerful. The gradual climate change of the last 3000 years has rendered both areas mostly desert. We can also blame cutting down the massive cedars of Lebanon that no longer exist.
