Ponce De Leon
Never Found It
So
Walt Disney Made It
And I walk by it every day
Perfect Water
Bursts up and out
Defying Gravity
And the
Hot Florida Sunlight
Turns The Drops Into
Diamonds
The Kids Of The World
Play in the spray
Baptized in Innocence
Freedom
And Pleasure
Singing with the universal language
Of laughter
Their parents sit around
Take a load off
Watch their kids play
And for one Kodak Moment
They smile
Thinking it's all been worthwhile
And for every time
I've heard a kid
Scream like a buzzsaw blade
Or
Demand candy like it's their birthright
Or
Race around me like human pinballs
Or
Fight or cry or do the million kid things
That make me glad I'm a bachelor
I only have to watch them
Playing And
Laughing
In the Fountain Of Youth
And the coating of ice
Around my cynical heart
Melts and shatters
