I wrote this on the 7th Anniversary of 9/11 as I thought about my family in NYC. I spent 24yrs. in the USAF. A week after 9/11 I tried to join the AF to serve our country again. Service to country is what we in the military do. The words in poem are split into two columns to represent the Twin Towers. The colors represent our national flag. The red represents the blood that was shed by the people who served our country as police, fire fighters and service members, etc. It also represents the blood that was shed by our Father in heaven for all of us. Amen

The endearing simplification brings out the true beauty within. Was a true nightmare trying to reach family and friends and my husband too who works for American Airlines. God bless all who stepped up to the plate so selflessly. All will always be remembered....
