Memorial Day is a special time set aside to recall our Veterans who are now deceased. I recall our next door neighbor, John West who was a long-standing resident of our village served as a pilot in the Army during in WWII. He passed away a few years ago but he was a great man. There are many who served our nation who are no longer with us. This poem is dedicated to them...

Remember Whose Boots are in the Ground There is a big sacrifice our Armed Forces members make. They all do it with honor unselfishly and they do it for our sake. It is the ultimate sacrifice for duty and country. They do it to preserve our freedom and liberty. So let’s all take a minute and without a sound. Give reverence to the person whose boots are in the ground. Let’s take some time out this Memorial Day and try to recall, our fallen heroes who gave this country their all.
