My father would tell me that I would not graduate High School and that I was a jerk. My mother told me not to listen to my dad...imagine that!

Mother - What can I say?

You made me who I am today Dad would say things that were destructive and very mean

But your words of encouragement and hope helped fulfill my lifetime dreams

Dreams of greatness and love deep within my soul

Dreams of family and peace that made me whole

With the vision you provided I was able to believe I could achieve much more

More than I dreamed in in my whole life before

"Thank you" dear mother, what else can I say?

Mother - You gave me inner happiness

You made me the man that I am today.

From a child that was told he could not graduate high school by his own dad

To an officer in the Air Force and a doctor who raised a successful family

I love you Mom! I am eternally grateful and so very glad!

Amen

It's sure a good thing you had Mom on your side. I was fortunate to have good parents on both sides, although my father did get a little critical of my actions from time to time and then bragged about me whenever he got the chance.

I had the same upbringing, but it was my mother dishing out the punishment, and it was with whatever she could lay her hands on. My father said nothing.
