A Mansion of Frozen Music

by Debashish Haar — Read all 156 poems by Debashish Haar

A Merry Christmas to All...

Sunday, December 25, 2005

This painting is a frozen mansion of music,
Music that reminds of a forlorn odeum,
An odeum that has lost its acoustics.
Music is the only silence in this canvas.

It is painted in mild colors that explode
With the burning bowels of the earth,
A painting that searches its art
stretching beyond itself.

This painting is a memoir,
It is a mausoleum of those who never died…
Those who never departed their graves,
Those who sculptured glass to make fire.

The sun will rise upon this mansion and the beautiful music will fly free from the canvas!

Love & Light,

This makes me think first and foremost of that moment of held breath, the creative tension BEFORE that first stroke is placed on the virgin canvas... when the beauty and potential is all in the Master's head and is the inner explosion of anticipation within him which motivates and energises the intial concepts and brushwork. Gorgeous, Debs - and makes me also think of an ice sculpture which you don't ever want to melt and which burns with luminosity and significance. You have created wonderfully here. Bless you, Kate xx

This poem is so validating, Debs. We must reach and reach even higher to deliver that which our audience awaits. Inspired, introspective and evolved. Your words ring out as you paint the canvas from the light of your soul. Merry Christmas to you!!

Take care,

Sherry
