Many are lucky, very lucky, they go through life first class train, a few have been running with tired legs trying to get a glimpse of the caboose far ahead, where it seems that the parallel rails come together.
Every one is born with a couple of boxes, all people are equal, so why it is that there are first among equals?
When I was born,
someone said to me,
"God gave you two boxes,
a White one where to put
all your happy moments,
and a Black one to hide
all the sorrows
that you may have."
I got two boxes.
Then...
at my life's end,
inside the boxes
He will wish to see...
and I will show Him
that of happiness
the White box
contains none,
but the other,
by His wisdom
the Black box
without a bottom,
is the full one.
A different view than I expected... I always thought that the black box was empty because it had no bottom and therefore everything fell out (for the Lord to carry instead of us...)
I hope you find numerous things to fill your white box with as you look around you...
Such a different poem I have come across here today. I never thought of life that way, having 2 boses, but it does make sense to me now. I know my black box is more full then my white one too. Good advice here to take from.
a very wise lesson learned here
Never Carry the load of sorrows dwell
as God does not weight us with it,
instead he has an ocean of forgiveness
Much Love & Blessings

I think it is time to put the sad box in the dumpster and start filling up the white box...you can start with you friends here on AD, and the places you have loved to visit, the sunny days you enjoy, etc.
Sending you my thanks for all the beautiful words you have written to me of my writings.
There, now add that to the white box...along with the words of all your fellow friends on AD...and you will probably need another white box!
Love and sunshine, CarolHawks
My goodness, the white box should be full of a lifetime of wonderful memories. Filled with the one heart that has shared with everyone all that is good, right and just. The black box holds life's disappointments, hardships and sorrow so as never to be forgotten as both the white box and the black box together is what makes you, you....
Make it easy on yourself my friend, dump all the contents of the black box into the white, long before you meet him, by the way what you call that poetry your writing the grey area? re-examine your process of elimination, get an unbiased opinion will ya! there are some nice ones just down below. Bless You! Jasmin Horst
Deeply affecting, moving poetry, Georg, especially the last stanza. The Black box may be full, but He was with you, through every item in it. Well done.
I had to re-read this one a couple of times, for the ending was different than I expected. A bit of puzzler, that can be read several ways. A mystery left between the reader and God to interpret according to the persuasion of each mind to comprehend it in its own way. Fascinating words for me to ponder today. You would be an excellent character in a story to figure out all of the mysteries in the Cul-de-sac series, and maybe to explain them to the writers! Thanks, Georg.
Now thats a different outlook on life than I've heard before, quite the philosopher you've turned out to be...don't worry, I won't tell Pee-wee how smart you really are, as he thinks he is the smart one...Ed
this is really sad-i used to keep myself down by focusing on that black box--when i changed my thinking and focus, i realized how full my white box really was!
Two boxes, BLACK AND WHITE, BLACK box without a bottom full of sorrow, WHITE box for all your happy moments........ This is very interseting,I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! BUT IF YOU, DEAR GEORG MATEOS, IF YOU WILL PUT IN WHITE BOX, BOX OF HAPPINESS ALL YOUR HEAVENLY BEAUTIFUL, MOST TALENTED POETRY, THAT WHITE BOX WILL BE BIGGER THAN SHAKESPEARE'S BOX WITH HIS BOOKS!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva
A very clever write. Your time is not yet up and your white box may overflow anytime soon. All I know is you have filled our white boxes here at the Den with much happiness and we thank you for that.
Sherlyn Powell opens up about her love and devotion to her family and the overwhelming repercussion when communication breaks down. Heartbroken and distraught she learns to release her prayer and realize with faith God would reunite her family.
A passionate and poignant memoir written by a woman whose life has been guided by the words: "I am here to learn how to love well." The book is a deep examination of relationships, family, motivation, and honoring of the Self.
I hope you find numerous things to fill your white box with as you look around you...
