Sometimes...solutions don't have problems.

Poem Artwork

I went down the mountainside
trying to hear if then I could
the happy laugh the river’s guarding,
the last echoes from my childhood.

A yearn, a pilgrimage to my past,
forest, army of trees, scents of woods,
with crisscrossing paths going nowhere,
reach Shangri-la…only by foot.

You couldn’t see the flowing waters
but like Ulysses its Sirens murmur,
which were riding on the river’s waves
enticing for a swim the truant’s young.

Eating berries, figs and wild apples
was then, a forbidden fun,
than see the summer go past the window
in the prison that they call a school.

In the time glass has been too long
since the child smile could touch my soul,
but where we bathed, screamed and fished
was the place where all laugh were born.

I have the problem of an empty space
left by the absence of happy thoughts,
which so many children spread around
like seeds of life for tomorrow’s crop.

I deep my fingers in the warm waters
trying to fell again what I feel no more,
and then I heard the giggling laughter
which the river warded from the world.

My secret garden always be there
inn the very heart of a lost childhood,
holding a solution without a problem
and an empty space where to put my soul.

Beautiful write we can not get back our childhood
But it’s good to know that we can always visit
Our memories and that special secrete garden that we all have
In our mind we hold the largest album of Photographs
Of our treasured memories
Brilliant write!!

have to agree with Marcia your poem is lovely and I too think we all have our own little secret gardens that we need to escape to from time to time to rejuvenate. Your write captures this topic well.

Georg, One cannot get back any childhood. It is lost forever, but memories can keep it alive in our hearts and minds, if we so choose.
I had to live with a violent father who took out all his aggressions on my mother. It was not a safe childhood, always fearing when the next beating would come. You find a shelter from this pain, by going into your own world of whatever makes you feel better or safer. I can relate to your poem and now as an adult and a mother I bring joy instead of pain. That is what I learned to do from my pain.
I love you dear friend, no matter what, unconditonally..
Always know you have someone that cares very much for you.
Much peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

Delightful poem, Georg...so easy to read for those of us at a "certain" age when reminescing of childhood times seems to give us the "boost" we need :o) And I love the idea of your Secret Garden...

Georg,

"Eating berries, figs and wild apples
was then, a forbidden fun,
than see the summer go past the window
in the prison that they call a school."

This is the part that makes the rest of it. School made me empty..I didn't want to learn what they were trying to teach me. It alone created an empty space, a lost childhood. And yes, it holds a solution, the problem being unseen except by the one that holds the solution. You are Sioux warrior Wounded Eagle, and your secret garden is the answer to all. Thank you for sharing a part of it... :]
