Poem Artwork

I remember the dream that gave release
It once was common and expected
Now would be unexpected and uncommon
Time has crushed that warm emotion

That feeling that was intimate and mutual
Is now a distant memory
I feel the coldness grow each day
Crawling up my skin

I railed at the fates once
Cried tears of frustration
Till the well of tears dried up
And hopelessness became my life

I missed that common and natural high
For so very long
An addiction I longed to resume
Until time deleted the cravings

I float through the days
Untouched and without pleasures
Just alive enough to remember
And dead enough not to care.

Time is also a worry in my life: your poem seems to speak about desillusion . Time is a motif in many works such as "the portrait of Dorian gray" etc..Anne Pawlak.

How desolate and forlorn, how sad a picture........and it sadly reflects these years of my life. Well done, well done, indeed -- you reach the reader with this
