The Lost years
Finding myself in the lost years
Between middle age and the grave
Winning the race to self-awareness
But losing present lifes securities
Husbands becoming feeble shadows
Grandkids growing stronger
Daughters granting themselves authority
Sons with families of their own
New secrets that will shine like suns
In the museum of this heart
And old loves that once graced its walls
Lost to time and sad neglect
I will smile and brave this future
And hold those special times inside
Hold them close like golden treasures
Facing dawns determined march
Love, Janet xoxoxo
Nice write....
