Can we find our way to spiritual fulfillment?

I cry wet tears for desperate lives
That live beneath these skies of gray
Forever, smiling grins of sin
That troubles hearts from deep within.

Then crowds of humans blasphemers
Who shunned the growing light of day
Because the lessons that were taught
Came with pleasures/treasures sway

Each day becomes another time
For playing games that imitate
A hell that gives these lives a rhyme
Clanging hard upon cruel grates

Today the edge of dawn comes nigh
Each shard of light a sharper glint
And tells in details high and dry
That humankind is but a sigh

In Gods remorseful mind we live
Barely looking in our hearts
Rare glances to our souls we give
Living moments only in part

Weeks pass and then the years
Each accumulating a debt unpaid
Sins, the guilt, the lasting fears
Color joy with dark parade

Can we learn to find the truth?
Are we able to live sans lies?
Accepting the hand of God that sooths,
And gaining heaven as a prize?
