I fear I am a fool
I flounder about
living in the false hope
that I have something of worth
something of value
that in baring my soul
to these pages
but an inkling of the grandeur
within
could shine forth
I am a fool
I have nothing
to offer
you
or the world
I have thus far
lived a lie
this I have learned
there are others
worthy of the right
many who have come before
many who will come hence
but not I
I do not suffer fools gladly
and I am the biggest fool of all
time away
perhaps
a retreat to the home of my private journals
perhaps
downtime from the drive the push the ongoing
struggle
of getting the words right
laying them just so on the page
perhaps
or may haps
I know that I tread in waters deep
although I should yet be wallowing in the shallows
I cannot
and will not
pursue
this foolishness
at least not this day
this day
I yearn for peace
from the itchy won’t go away
voice
who repeats day in day out
write
write
write
what I scream
what do you want from me
and so I will retreat
to the quiet shell of mediocrity
to the non existence of conformism
I am exhausted with the effort
of it all……………….

late

That voice that wants you to write may be heaven whispering...one day when she sees you are obeying, she just may send the one the world needs most,so...don't quit, who cares if they are not all Dickens or Shakesphere...we don't,I don't,your poems make me think and they make me smile and sometimes they help me to know that I am not on my own...like this one did, isn't that worth something?
Take a rest then get back to it and don't be so bloody hard on yourself.

Must be the month for throwing brushs out the windows and writing tools in the waste bin. You wrote the emotion of this feeling very well. In other words; you are gifted with your words, keep writing but, do allow yourself a break if its getting to you. Play a little :-)

Stabbing Pencey Boudreaux by Mary Lynn Plaisance

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
