.

cold here
not cold like some cold
but cold enough
like what 39 degrees
or some such nonsense
cold enough to frost
over my windshield
enough to make the roofs
look like winter
enough to make the grass
all white
enough to make steam
come off the friggin
mailbox
enough for me to wish I lived
in some tropical
no cold zone
where the breeze blows
nothing but warm
and flip-flops are the norm
I want that this morning
to dig out my shorts
the really short shorts
Halter-top
pina colada in hand
poolside
no forget the shorts
bikini
now we’re talking
bikini weather
hunkahunka burning loves
just friggin laying around
waiting for the waiter dude
to freshen the baby umbrellas
in our tepid drinks
strains of tropical music
lulling us under blazing sun
into dream like hazes of
this is the friggin life
trickles of sweat pooling
reminding me
its time
to jump in the deep end
the lifting of the bikini to check
the scorch factor
ah yes two degrees darker
two degrees closer to heaven
with no more thought to pressure
than rolling over
removing sunglasses
and wishing mr Adonis
would help me with those ever hard to reach
back spots
slathering me with coconut smelling
burn me
with your touch baby
oil
damn
it’s cold in here
what’s wrong with this friggin floor heater
damn damn damn the cold anyway

Josie.. this made me laugh so hard.. and not because I am in Florida either..lol.. I love the way you started this and then ened with the same cold.. brrrr.. LOL.. GREAT JOB!!

brrrr...this made me cold...i'd rather have the cold, though, than HOT...as a woman, i can always add clothing layers when it's cold, or sit in front of a roaring fire (with someone special, i hope)...in the summer, we can only take so much OFF before we're arrested for indecent northern and southern exposure (if you get what i mean). *grins* 'course, the hot weather does feel better on arthritic joints...what i hate most about cold weather? not so much the COLD, it's that DAMN WIND!! try to stay warm, baby...summer will be here, soon enough! (((((HUGS))))) and love, karla. :) BTW--terrific rant! :)
