To Pray or Not to Pray…Part 1

How often have you heard folk say

“Oh….pray…well I…do it in private, like…not in front of others…”

or

“Why bother, you don’t get answers anyway…”

or

“Ah, come on…you don’t believe that stuff, do you? It doesn’t work…”

The first group are the “shy-sters”, but they have no problem talking to all and sundry about their problems

The second group are the doubters, but they have no problem believing that when they put food in the microwave to cook, it will

And the third group, the unbelievers, who, when faced with a crisis are the first to shout “Oh God”

Surely there’s something wrong with this picture,

That’s why I’m gonna stick with God’s love letter

‘Cause here’s what it says

·        “…men ought always to pray…” Luke 18:1

·        “…pray without ceasing…” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

·        “…that men pray everywhere…” 1 Timothy 2:8

·        “…pray one for another…” James 5:16

·        “…pray for them which…” Matthew 5:44

These are but a few such instructions
