We just can seem to mind   Although it’s free, the price is paid A gift from God, His life he laid He bore the weight of all our sin So we, with Him, could enter in   Yet most of us just can’t let go The baggage that we claim The self, our will our way, not His It’s such an awful shame   What keeps us from eternal bliss? It’s, us, ourselves, our way The mark we just can’t find What keeps us from His loving grip? We just can’t seem to mind   His Word is there , the orders clear Leave Yourself behind We take us back, we run amuck We just can’t seem to mind     And Satan’s always standing there Arms wide, he seems to kind He claims us to eternal hell  Cause we just will not mind     We’ve got to keep OUR lives afloat Floatin down a river Where greed and lust abound Never heeding the prophet’s cry Repent and turn around   So in your evil deeds, You prosper and you grow Oh, wondrous prince of darkness Your coffers overflow With souls of those who follow What they think they Know!!!!!!   Art Proctor 4-25-06
