The See-Saw



We share a see-saw
Of emotions, needs,
Dreams, fears,
Victories and defeats.

We rock back and forth
In an eternal pendulum,
When you’re down,
I’ll be up for you;
Come rest your head
Upon my shoulder –
I’ll listen, stroke your hair,
And remind you
That you are loved.

Soon, you’ll be up
And feeling the wind in your hair;
Then come and pull me
Into your arms
When I’m down
So you can hold me,
Listen to me,
And remind me of the same.
