My father passed away last April.


Surprising

after dusting it off

it was a template

for my head.

The rakish

angle

was his

in an old snapshot.

And it seemed the

right time

to crown myself

with his weathered Stetson--

an understated

red feather

waving from

an old

black band--

And for a moment

I swear

I could feel

the brush

of his

warm. ancient

hand.
